Loch Earn is located on the boundry of Perthshire and Stirling county. It’s also a furthest east located water venue withing the Loch Lomond and Trosachs National Park. We will be exploring the east side of the loch, not far from the golf course in St Fillans. Hikers, swimmer and cyclists would also find here a lot of intersting routes to complete. A great family-friendly destination.

We love exploring here in the autumn, winter and early spring time, avoiding the crowds. Lochearnhead is steeped in history from the Mesolithic-Age, the Bronze Age with the crannogs on Loch Earn, the evidence of Pictish and incoming Scots from Ireland and the feudal estates of the clans McGregor, McLaren and Stewarts.

MEETING POINT ADDRESS

We will meet on the south eastern end of the loch near the village St Fillans. Driving on A85 road from Crieff direction, take a left turning over a small bridge signposted ‘golf course’ just before the village. Once reaching the loch you will see a several small laybys to park safely

No previous paddling experience necessary. Suitable for age 5+

WHAT TO BRING?

Warm clothes, no jeans, suitable for the weather, including shoes you don’t mind to get wet, that’s it. We will have dry bags available so you can carry spare hats, gloves, food, camera, drink and any medications safely with you.
