Kayaking in Scotland – Loch of Clunie

Loch of Clunie

Tay Country, Perthshire

Go kayaking in Scotland, and explore a true gem of Perthshire. Loch of Clunie also known as Clunie Loch is located between Dunkeld and Blairgowrie. This small but picturesque venue offers superb scenery and an interesting wildlife experience and it’s full of amazing historic sites.
A great location to sit, relax, and kayak.

On the guided tour with Outdoor Explore, you will be shown the best parts of this loch. Several historic buildings, an island or two, and plenty of stories are waiting for you here. On our previous trips here we did see the occasional osprey, red kites, kingfishers, beavers, herons, and buzzards. The site is often visited by swimmers, canoeists, SUP users, and fishermen. An interesting venue, worth exploring all year round. A great place to try night kayaking in the autumn and winter months.

With the popularity of Clunie Loch in recent years, it’s more important than ever to strictly follow the Scottish Outdoor Access Code. Use the button below to download the official Paddlers Access Code.

Currently, we only run pre-planned guided tours and private trips in the less popular, yet scenic, times of the year at Loch of Clunie. Use the form below to contact us directly with your inquiry regarding touring kayaking, open canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, and coracles use at Clunie Loch. we are happy to help!
